Join us once a week for open sewing. Bring your project and supplies. This is a good time for getting a second opinion or help if you are stuck on some aspect of your project. It will also be a good time to be inspired by the work of others. It's always more fun to quilt together.

If you have been wanting to make “your first quilt” but weren’t quite sure how to get started, this is the class for you! We’ll talk about selecting a project and fabrics, quilters’ tools, the “language” of quilting and lots more.
We will be working on a wall hanging composed of five different blocks using the book “It’s El-ementary” by Eleanor Burns. We will go through the whole process with you – from fabric selection all the way to quilting, finishing and attaching the label.
Missouri Waltz Quilt

This quilt makes a great gift for graduations, weddings or even for a new baby! We'll work on a "throw" sized quilt made from FAT QUARTERS. Yardage is used for the borders. In class we'll discuss fabric selection and placement in order to achieve the "motion" in the center of the quilt. This is a fast and easy project - and very forgiving. Come join us!!

Colorwash Landscape Quilt
Fridays at 10am for five sessions starting March 28
Session one is 10-2:30 with a 30-minute lunch break (bring your own)

In this class you will learn all the basics of landscape quilting including composition, perspective, color, light source, and fabric choice. A 20"x30" quilt will be created using on-point grid fusible interfacing for design and construction. Students should have basic machine quilt making skills.

Paper Piecing - “Rosebud”

Make this darling little project in a day! This class is for all skill levels of paper piecing including the very beginner. You may completely finish in class and if not you’ll be well on your way. This is an easy method of paper piecing that will allow you to translate this skill to all manner of patterns and projects. The Three T’s of Quilting - Techniques, Terms, and Tools

If you are new to quilting, this is the place to start. Do the terms fat quarter, on the bias, and rotary cutter make your head spin with confusion? This class will cover that and much more. We will talk about the process of quilting from start to finish and will try out some of the tools just for fun. This is the first in a series of classes for beginners.
Free Motion Lace

This technique is known by many names...thread play and thread embellishment just to name a couple. The best thing about this class is that you do NOT need to know how to do free motion quilting or sewing to take the class. You will learn how to create trees, leaves, or angels using this technique. Each piece can then be appliqued to a quilt or used on its own as a tree ornament. You will enjoy thread "doodling" in this class.
Fused Landscape Quilt

This class will teach you how to create a 13"x18" fused landscape from an original pattern provided by the instructor. You will learn how to create landscape perspective using color values, how to create a "snippets" fusible style appliqué foreground, and how to do landscape free motion quilting.

Beginning Table Runner

This table runner is a great first project for a new quilter. It is also a quick project for the experienced quilter. Deb will have several tips to share for making this project even better. The pattern is Seasonal Highlights by Marlous Designs.
Air Appliqué Basics
Air appliqué is the process of appliquéing one piece to another without the aid of a foundation. Learn this technique to expand your machine appliqué skills and creativity. The instructor will provide an original pattern to use as you learn all the tips and tricks of this appliqué method. This technique is perfect for creating unique art quilts.
Basic Machine Quilting
If you have always wanted to try machine quilting but weren't sure how to get started, this is the class for you. You will learn how to set up your machine correctly, how to machine quilt with a walking foot, and how to free motion machine quilt.
Bento Box
This fun, yet sophisticated quilt is perfect for the beginning and intermediate quilter! We will use Tracey Brookshier’s fat quarter friendly pattern to create a wall hanging or lap quilt. During the class, we will discuss layout and practice simple piecing techniques.

Binding is Not a Four Letter Word
This hands-on class will discuss the steps of determining how much binding is needed for a project, how to cut and make binding, how to attach binding properly including connecting the ends of the binding, and how to hand-finish the binding. You’ll pick up many helpful tips including creating perfectly square corners and what quilt show judges look for in bindings.
This class is for everyone - if you’ve never made a binding, or if you want to pick up a few pointers on improving your binding skills.
Color for Your Quilt - Out of the Closet and on to the Mat
If you love to quilt but struggle to choose fabrics that work together, this is the class for you. Learn all the basics for successfully choosing fabrics that take your quilts from ho-hum to “wow”.
Intermediate Appliqué - Rose of Sharon
Continue refining your needle turn appliqué skills with this Rose of Sharon wreath pattern. You can turn it into a pillow, a table topper, a wall hanging, or make it part of a bigger quilt project.

Needle Turn Appliqué Techniques
Learn all the basics for needle turn appliqué including preparation, points, inside curves, and outside curves. Practice all these techniques and find out some of the inside secrets for creating beautiful appliqué pieces.
9-Patch Pizzazz
Do you have fabrics in your stash that are "too beautiful to cut up"? Sound familiar? This class focuses on designing quick and easy quilts which make use of those lovely large scale prints. You will learn to combine large and medium scale prints in single, large blocks with nine-patch units to create striking and unique quilts!

Freezer Paper Flowers
This class is for anyone who wants to learn to appliqué by hand or who wants to try a different method of hand appliqué. We will be using the needle turn method with the help of freezer paper. This method makes smooth curves a breeze. Come see how much fun this is! You may choose any one of three patterns: “Irresistible Iris”, “Tulip Trio”, or “Perfect Poppies”.
Photographs: Out of the Album and on to the Quilt
This class will review the process and techniques for including photographs on your quilts. See samples, learn about products, and receive information that will start you on your way to putting photographs in your own creations.

A quick & easy to make wallet with Velcro strap closure, 12-place credit card holder, zippered coin purse, cash and check compartments, and miscellaneous Velcro pouch. The finished dimensions are 4 ½” x 8”. This is a great wallet.
The Why and How of Labeling Your Quilt
You’ve finally finished that quilt. You’re proud of your accomplishment. Now it’s time for you to “sign” your work of art.
In this class we’ll discuss what information can or should be included on a quilt label. Why should a label be attached anyway? Does it have to be sentimental and “flowery”? We’ll explore many different ways to make a label, including embroidery, preprinted labels and computer programs – among others. And one more thing…does the label have to be on the back of the quilt? Let’s talk about it!
Value Study Class
In this class you will learn how value creates depth, interest and pattern whether in traditional two-color quilt blocks or more contemporary blended quilt blocks. Value provides visual balance and determines the general color of a quilt. In landscape quilts, value is what creates dimension, perspective and season. In this class you will get to see how creative use of value can really make your quilt sing!Wonky Squares - A Stack and Slash Technique
If you want to break away from some of the precision in piecing and quilting, then this is the class for you. Learn how to create new and interesting block designs using this technique. Students will be well on their way to completing a small wall hanging at the end of the second session.
